all is not bad, life is good

I woke this morning
thinking of you
sweet thoughts
crossed my mind

 

of you my dear
i dream softly
into the nights
swift they may be

 

when i wake
i want to see you
not in a dream
but by my side

 

our souls warmed
by bodies that touch
common our bond
thoughts we share

Dear Paul,

I very much like your starkness. Your poems are tight (I love that) and full of emotion. You paint wonderfully with few words. I have no critical comments! How could I? Again, perhaps you will craft this poem even finer in time, but it is near perfect already. I suspect that changes would only reflect changes in mood and viewpoint as we age--all revelent, but none better, just different, that the current incarnation.
