when i die

when i die

A Poem by Leon Gipson
"

a continuation of morbidity

"

weep not
for lived I have
a life full

travelled
far and wide
friends aplenty

near and dear
on my mind
in my heart

loved i have been
loved i have
all truly

never mind
that i am gone
i am here

as long as you
remember me
here I will be

in your mind
in your heart
near I will be

shed not a tear
rather smile for me
life was good

in a drop of rain
a gentle summer breeze
remember me

Dear Paul,

Spectacular! Touching! This was extremely nice. You may change a few things here or there, but you've already arrived with a great poem. This is going to get a tie with the very highest ranked poem I've ever reviewed. I give you a 98, my friend, a poem higher than this would floor me and leave me gasping for breath.

We seem to be kindred spirits. Have a look at my Poem "Epic". I think it touches similar chords.

I wish you the very kindest of regards,

Rick

Began writing "poetry" many years ago. Simple stuff that had to rhyme, now it tends to be more "modernistic", but dark at times and sometimes rhymes - depends upon the mood. Those that I will be post.. more..
