ShadowsA Poem by Leo Allen
When silhouettes become shadows,
Darker, deeper in the gallows Brows narrowing For sighting; slighting -- In the corner It always follows. When Suns melt on the hills, Watching from the window sills It creeps, crawls, approaches Licking, hissing at your heels. Leaving puddles under feet, Drowning life beneath the grove, Through the trees and brush It flees -- Fear in layers like a rose.
