FireworksA Poem by Leo AllenRevised version of my previous "Understanding."Watching the fireworks Rooting something else in the works There was a launching, exploding, Feeling of imploding That I could not understand. You were sitting next to me But I was too far to be, Close to you. Because what was coming - A loss flying, fluttering, An end to you and I was something That I could not understand. What would become of together, These birds of a feather, Were finite feelings. Would I have still said hello to you On that windy avenue? I suppose something like that is not What you could understand. © 2016 Leo Allen |
