A Children's Poem

I wonder who sat beside the spider? Who could it be?

 

WHO WAS BESIDE THE SPIDER?

I saw a spider climb a tree,
and then he winked and smiled at me.
I asked him where he was going too;
He said he wanted a ‘Room with a View’.

The very next day, he was climbing a log,
and talking to a friendly frog.
I asked him if he knew his name.
He said he knew, but forgot just the same.

A week went by and there he was,
having a chat to a man from Oz.
I sat beside them and began to wonder,
does he mean a man from Down Under?

Late that day, I had to smile,
while sitting beside him for a while.
We talked and never made much sense;
He disappeared and climbed a fence.

I did not see him after that;
I guess he still enjoys a chat.
I hope someday I’ll see my friend,
until then, I’ll just pretend.
