Empty vesselA Poem by Amphitrite
Stuck in the routine task, with no bounty harvest.
It will wither your being ‘till there is no water left to flow. You’d be a stagnant swamp that is still seeking the river it was once have been. You’ll be a memory long been forgotten. An idea never had attention, never been heard and never been put into action. Still lingering, yet no one remember. Your existence seems just a dream, perhaps a nightmare. You’d be like an idle feeling that has not been moved by any emotions. You’d be a ghost; a lonely ghost, wandering with the twin. A ghost that has been felt but not seen. Now the other ghost that sleeps within you will hunt you. Fuse with your body and mind. Intertwined to your everyday living like an addicting drug that makes you feel empty if not taken. You will longed for the feeling, for the ecstasy, for the emptiness afterwards. Yes you will long for that emptiness. It is a vessel that needs to be filled. And if you don’t have it, you will not feel the fullness. It will be too late for you. You’ll realize it was ruined, you are destroyed and you are alone No one to talk to but the ghost that resides in you. He will advise you to go on and take the medication because he himself can’t take your life But you will refuse. You will refuse because finally, you don’t need it. You don’t need a medicine. All your life you’ve been looking for a cure, And everytime, you fall for that trap. Now you realize, you do not need any of that, you just need yourself. You just need a little bit of yourself. © 2016 AmphitriteAuthor's Note
