Weep Not For Me

Weep Not For Me

A Poem by Lena M. P.

Sentries draped in forest green.

Stretching, reaching, branching,

Bending to the wind commands.

Standing fast to meet the water

Weeping, swaying to the tune

Of nature as she flows beside you.

Glorious guardians bless the shoreline

Poetic wall of timeless beauty

Secret rendezvous beneath your leaves

Rain blends with the tears of decades

Prayers offered to your mother

Earth her name who gave you life.

Someday let me lie beneath you

When last my breath joins the breeze

Emerald green will be my headstone.

Your words are beautiful, serene, and the message you impart makes one thankful for all that we are a part of in life. How lovely is:

Glorious guardians bless the shoreline
Poetic wall of timeless beauty

I can just imagine this in my spirit!

Your free verse form is excellent!

You have the spiritual maturity to join the breeze under the emerald green headstone.
Amazing work linking the life and death with aspiration of green and blissful life.

That we might all stand in a copse of woods, amid a landscape of gentle hills, and look above us, and below us, and see the Sculptor who formed it all, and our place in His scheme, both present and eventual, rather that the mundanities of grass to be mown and leaves to be raked. This is a lovely and a prescient vision.

as I was collecting my thoughts together, the thoughts which your poem gave me, I realized how much beauty's lingering in the inner structuring of this poem... There's a gentle charm in the meaning of those words. The images you painted are admirably glamorous 'Poetic wall of timeless beauty, Secret rendezvous beneath your leaves'.
Perfection at its finest...
