Nights Palette

Nights Palette

A Poem by Lena M. P.

A turquoise sky marbled with wisps of Xanadu clouds,
Framing smudges of magenta layered over wrinkles of denim,
Smeared above remnants of a setting orb
Outlining silhouettes of barren limbs stretching into space.

Let’s walk along the shadows wrapped in weary contentment
Hands intertwined in night’s rhapsody
Silently sharing the crescendo of a days demise
As it graciously releases its last breath into twilight.

Your captivating words really do express the mystery and romance the night can bring, love the Xanadu cloud reference.

I love the last moments of sunset. Nothing can capture you in its beauty and then lure you into the darkness quite like that moment in time. Well versed.

I love the description. I've never read a poem that used denim as a description for the sky. That was very creative!

A very vivid, beautiful, description of sunset and twilight. I used to love to walk along the shore at sunset and your poem has taken me back to when I could do so. Very nice poem.

Hugs,
Ellen
