A Poem For My MotherA Poem by ChristinaThis poem was inspired by the time my mother told me she resented her cousin for committing suicide.
I am a forest now;
The essence of my soul Flows through this bed of roots; I have found such tranquility, Tears often escape my eyes And come out sap; I've witnessed many things, Absorbed the fingerprints Of many men in times past-- I have gained the wisdom I once desired in another life; Come, visit me in my home, Listen to my rippling leaves And at once hear my whispered apologies: "I'm sorry that in my search for happiness I had to break your heart." © 2016 ChristinaAuthor's Note
