I Am Not The Beauty You SeeA Poem by LeiWonders of the mind. Intriguing conversations; love me for the beauty of my thoughts. My features go as deep as the inevitable process of aging. Although the brain ages too; memories live a lifetime!I am not the beauty you see I spend restless nights alone I study all the wonders of the world looking for myself but never do I find Reflections of ugliness of all the world in every rainbow I see It is not as bright as it seems Nothing looks back Color it lacks A sinkhole of words A missed youth I perceive Hating my identity I am not the beauty you see I came in the world scarred with knowledge; no one understands a winding mind Gifted is what they said Still waiting to unwrap I call it a knowledge attack A lonely journey, bored, filled with dreams Hoping someone can sooth my pace with a mere speech A voice I love From the first time heard Singing a song as a perfect bird A life of cycle; freshened with spring Look at me no beauty queen Attacking boundaries of my existence and filtering my every thought Asking questions to gauge my perspective and for once understanding the real me Ugly genetics, I am not the beauty you see Shielded constant reminders Living logic as clear as the mindless Dangerous thought process reflecting life's connections I get it I see it I feel it But you don't know it Why can't everyone see the control of it Vision of beauty I am not that beautiful The unwanted disconnected Living thoughts of life relentless; in essence Accidental Beauty only in a mind of sleep I am not the beauty you see so, rest your eyes. © 2017 LeiAuthor's Note
