This Is What We've Learned

This Is What We've Learned

A Poem by Leah
"

about Jordan and I at first.. and then it was just imagining.

"

But now I've kept up with my prosecuter

and I know all of the jurys' secrets.

tell me the reason why should I

have to be the one to testify?

when the best criminal is by my side.

slowly ruining me.

turning my embers into useless piles of dust.

I love you with all my strength- though you seem

to have taken my crossbars.

please give me  reminder of why I'm here-

when our yesterday looks so much better than

our today.

you know what the future holds- look

into your palm and tell me the lies.

can you separate the truth?

the only reality we've ever known has been

the fantasy we've never fully shown.

tell me the truth- and i'll say i love me.

or don't- and I'll still say it anyway.

you're always worth it-

but we're hardly worth it-

but I love you all the same.
