Music never stops

Music never stops

A Poem by Legolas
"

What do you think it's about?

"
I look before me.
Black lines weave throughout
a stark white page.

Carefully plotted ink spots
dot the thin strokes.
Although it may not seem like it,
these tell a story.

The right hand starts off slow.
Beautiful for the first bit.
Then it starts becoming detached;
almost ugly sounding.

The left hand then starts,
taking over from the right.
Just as the right, it starts wonderfully.
After a while, it loses it's melody.

Both hands come together.
A little rough at first, but then
they find each others rhythm.
No longer are they lost or incomplete.

Together they have created music.
A symphony of notes.
A rhapsody of love.
A sonata of feeling.

Each note compliments the others perfectly.
Like this, they could go on forever;
making music for each other,
and they do.

The music never stops.

Very, very beautiful. I play piano and love many types of music. I've composed a few of my own piano pieces and I have to say that every line in your poem is so true and vivid. I read this as someone who both appreciates music as an art form, yet sometimes looks at it constructively, and music in general is just this glorious invention that does not have a beginning or end. It just is, and every single person knows and loves some type of music. Music is a part of life and when I listen to classical or soundtracks...I'm swept away to another world. I think writing and music go well together cause every time I write a story or poem, I feel like each word comes together like each instrument in a song...then it ends like the resounding finale of a symphonic orchestra. Your poem definitely did. :) Standing ovation for you, my friend. Truly.

Thank you.
This is truly fantastic; How you describe the relationship between melody and harmony. The left hand and the right hand. The struggle of frequencies before the a balance and reprise. An excellent ballad of words that you've composed here.

What a fantastic poem!!!! The imagery was so vivid, and I could really picture it in my head! Wonderfully executed, well-written, fresh, fluid, a true work of literature. Excellent work! I hope to see more of your work in the future!!!

Beautiful! I love how you can weave such intricate patterns and designs with your work-so vivid with such simple, modest words. Truly spectacular! This poem is amazing in every way, the title itself worth millions. So well written and from the heart! So much emotion, so much feeling! Simply brilliant!
Keep writing!

thank you. as do I love reading yours.
I love this poem. You described everything so vividly, your words were a paintbrush painting a beautiful picture on the canvas of my mind. From the first line, you had my attention. The words, the images danced in the air, beautiful, simple, elegant. This is truly a masterpiece. I can't even begin to explain how beautifully penned it is, not to mention the depth and intellect of the metaphor. This was obviously very well thought through but it doesn't seem forced in the slightest. Congratulations on another sophisticated, well written poem. I can't emphasize enough how much I love it.

This is beautifully written. Powerful message and eloquently worded.

You said I write better haikus than you, even if that's true (which I disagree with), I like your long-form poetry so much better than my own.

Wonderfully done. 100/100
