Something that struck me while reading all the little life moments on Facebook.
Epic
Everyone's life is a story. Some are told within a word or a sentence. Some through many a paragraph. But the only time we seem to pay much mind to their epic is through their epitaph.
Well, we can't all live lives like Mark Twain and Jack London...but wouldn't it be wonderful if we could?! Yet, everyone has a story and I think its important to listen to each other and to share and to care about our fellow human beings. You make a valid, if somewhat sad, point here. Another great write.
I had to read a lot of the British Renaissance Poet last semester and school and this poem reminds me of his work. The overall rhythm of the poem overall is what really does it for me. The ending two lines are also very strong. The twist at the end packs a potent punch and provides a real dose of reality.
A short piece of poetry with such a title defining the contrary. But I like the meaning described in the content. It explains it. The contrast just gives strong impact which makes it more essential and a lot more interesting. Perfect word choice. Keep writing.
With a poem of this title, you know I'd have to review it.
And this is a very poignant poem. It is simple and short--as it should be with this message. So nice: "Everyone's life is a story", especially when contrasted against the title of the poem: "Epic". Yes, everyone's life is an epic no matter how mean or grand. It is a story carved out of life, fashioned with the tools at hand and prey to the whims of fate. And so overlooked. Not summed until the end, and then generally weighed carelessly.
Nice one Legion. Our species seems obsessed with pointless drama and avoidable tragedy- facebook could represent the epitome of both in this ever so fickle modern age! Take care and have a great christmas, spence

I write about various topics. Mostly I write poetry/songs. I took my screen name from a concept album/epic poem I wrote years ago titled "Legion's Legacy: Tales of the Damned" which was inspired by .. more..
