An Epitaph For Legion

An Epitaph For Legion

A Poem by Legion
"

Something darkishly humourous. Not really dead yet, but haven't been on quite as much as I would like to be.

"
An Epitaph For Legion

A multitude, devilishly divine,
Encapsulated within this basted swine
Leaves this world in their final days
Complete with a delicious pineapple glaze
And carved into morsels delectable
Spread out splendidly upon the table.
So pass those plates, fill them up,
And keep in mind, as we sup,
To tip your glass and share a toast
In memory of this succulent roast.

Makes me think of a medieval feast. The candles burning after dark in a long hall with everyone sitting around it. The first things that come to mind are Redwall and Hamlet.

Wonderful piece. I like this sort of length in a poem, it isn't too long, but leaves you satisfied in the end. I like the rhyming here--it adds well to the poem. Good work!

Oh Legion, you always turn food into an art form for us to feast our words on each stanza and syllable. Although a simple poem, it's got your stamp of orginality. Great!!

I enjoyed the humor in this piece. I hope when I pass, the tears will sit on the table like the bill and the laughter is devoured like the meal. Thank you for sharing it.

I really liked the fact that this was so serious yet joking. Dark, dry humor, the kind I like...

But I also took an idea from it that I really like. That when we die we leave everything we've done with ourselves and every impression we've made, work of art we have created and task completed, to be veiwed by everyone in a brand new light and quite literally feast on our existance by contemplating such things so deeply.

Very good, this could well have been written on the back of a missed plane ticket to the middle east.

Ah! I like it! The alluding to Legion's ultimate, piggy demise through a pork-dinner festival is wonderfully delicious.

Also, here is the bbq.
