As far as I can comprehend this madness, it is about the loss of our humanity (mainly through these contraptions which causes our alienation from one another).
This just came pouring out. I haven't written anything in awhile and this suddenly hit me. Not really sure I care for it except the last stanza. May tear it apart and use that in something else later. Haven't checked for spelling errors either. If you find any, please let me know.

I'm not quite sure why you would not care for it. It speaks the truth that many see and the truth many refuse to see. Within the flow of these words, one can hear the mourning rhythm of an ode offered to humanity. It has the epic ring of the day to day apocalypse that we live through in each moment. Some are shielded from this view, and muddle on through life like sheep - blissfully unaware that the dreams they chase are but pale reflections of the dream they imagine. A solemn melancholy is the unjust reward for those that would see through the facade in the hopes of setting others free so that we seek what we once sought instead of this pale shambles of the dream. There is truth here, but it is a truth many refuse to see as they drink deep of delusion and denial. We still have the chance to make the actual dream a reality, but first we must release ourselves from this tainted nightmare to which we cling.
I like this but I think my computer feels insulted, it's sulking now. lol Technology is only a tool. There are no good or bad tools; just people who use them with good or bad intent. A shovel can be used to plant a flower or to bury the corpse of the head it just bashed in. It's all semantics.
I wonder if this has little to do with the kit and everything to do with your creative instincts. Not having written for a while, you return to the keyboard... You wonder, what next? And then -- the urge to write being so strong -- you are inspired by your immediate circumstance. I wonder if it is your energy exerting itself for the sense of sensing itself. The itch to write is so strong it won't leave you alone. Exciting stuff. It's great to see a writer 'having to do it' and I think the outpouring is a strong one.
All I can say is, is AMEN!! This is just so truthful. I like this alot. I really enjoyed your last stanza. I thought it was remarkable. Hey if you can't handle the truth what good are you? This is amazing!!!
I think for me, the opening line says it all. I have had the misfortune of having several roommates ina row who had to be plugged in- to something- 24/7, with the tv/ radio/ ipod going all the time. One actually had panic attacks in silence. The spiritual among us claim that God resides in the echoes of the silent spaces, so what does that say about the future of relationship to either a higher power, or, through it, to each other?
I like the last stanza and think you should keep it:).
This is such philosophical. To me this poem says we have
gotten lost over the centuries, and the ones who haven't,
what is it that their future still holds.
I absolutely loved this piece. I have felt we have lost our humanity, kindness and our simplicity every time we as a society have made a technological advancement. I feel with every circuit and board that was created with our convenience in mind a little piece of human touch and emotion was sacrificed on the alter of greed. We are now just images (pixels) on a screen and that may be nice for the recluse and the loner, but what about the people that would have embraced life with both hands, but now are being taught the way of the loner. Is it better to hide behind a monitor? Is it better to check a profile than to learn from the subtleties of a smile? Where is humanity? I think humanity is tucked away neatly in the file folder on technologies desk top. I loved this piece so much! I think this all came about because of laziness and the need to top ourselves. Can't we ever be satisfied? I won't go any longer, but it spawned a deep feeling in me.
I write about various topics. Mostly I write poetry/songs. I took my screen name from a concept album/epic poem I wrote years ago titled "Legion's Legacy: Tales of the Damned" which was inspired by .. more..
