As far as I can comprehend this madness, it is about the loss of our humanity (mainly through these contraptions which causes our alienation from one another).
This just came pouring out. I haven't written anything in awhile and this suddenly hit me. Not really sure I care for it except the last stanza. May tear it apart and use that in something else later. Haven't checked for spelling errors either. If you find any, please let me know.

I'm not quite sure why you would not care for it. It speaks the truth that many see and the truth many refuse to see. Within the flow of these words, one can hear the mourning rhythm of an ode offered to humanity. It has the epic ring of the day to day apocalypse that we live through in each moment. Some are shielded from this view, and muddle on through life like sheep - blissfully unaware that the dreams they chase are but pale reflections of the dream they imagine. A solemn melancholy is the unjust reward for those that would see through the facade in the hopes of setting others free so that we seek what we once sought instead of this pale shambles of the dream. There is truth here, but it is a truth many refuse to see as they drink deep of delusion and denial. We still have the chance to make the actual dream a reality, but first we must release ourselves from this tainted nightmare to which we cling.
I realy liked this piece Legion, this is nothing to be ashamed of. i felt like this realy spoke to me. The masses are divided by what we use to keep us "sane". Whether those tools for sanity be prescription drugs, religon, or our misguided conception of what is moral and right, it is all nothing more than diversions to keep us from aknowledging the failure of our convictions and the cosmic stink of our unwashable filth. Kudos:)
Really interesting piece, Legion. Stream of consciousness writes always seem raw, but so full of meaning and nuance that they take several read-thoughs to fully appreciate.
Pretty heady stuff, Leg ... Great opening verse... I loved the lines:
"We became mired Between and beneath The past and the future.
The distance 'tween the two ... Burdened our perception of the here & now."
AND ~~~~~~~~~~
"We became the doppelganger Of what we once sought to be.
An image translucent, Seen soulless Staring back from an electric glow "
"Memories Chained" is an awesome write!

Wow. I really like this!
In a way I can tell that it's all written in one go- but I don't mean that as an insult! It's sort of a poetic prose ramble with passion :) I like the different areas that it covers, i caught relevances to the media and frustration with time.. thoguh i don't know if that's what you intended?
I really liked it though, one of those ones where you realy get an internal feeling where you relate to what's being said...
...honestly one of the best poems that I've readon here :) I really enjoyed it- very well done :) xx
Hi hon, this is the story of my recent happenings! I could not have put it better myself.
Beautiful phrasing as always...uniquely so!
The last stanza brings it home beautifully BRAVO!!! Don't fiddle with it is perfect!!!
I missed your writing. You have some incredibly witty and creative lines in this. and your right, the last stanza is just great writing. But no more outstanding than several lines within this piece.
"Enraptured by self-pity and prozac,Life's poetry and prose became subjugated."
"Our humanity
As it succumbed,
A victim of our dying piety,
Hidden within pixels
And plastics"
Although lately I've been drawn towards poems that contain some type of epiphany one finds within theirself, this one kept me reading (i guess yours fits the bill). Great write.
Legion...this is magnificent. I have tried so hard to say this in so many ways and with countless words, but you have absolutely nailed the hedonistic, narcissistic rapture that has enveloped the majority perception until all are left with nothing except petty nuances to cling to as identity and assertions of self to believe in.
The hopes and memories of the masses are conveniently coerced to complicity until the world is nothing more than a playground for the rich and powerful elite, while any potential objections are rendered obsolete beneath a facade- a fear of falsehoods, (terrorism, pandemics, recessions, et al), and are replaced by egotistical aspirations of self improvement, (materialism, possessions, pop idol and other such pretentions to celebrity fame and social status).
In the end we live in a state of self exclusion from our community, peers, families, etc and view the world through an electric dream machine that tells us what is real and asserts someone elses morality upon us. It is no coincidence that the elites of humanity control everything in tandem with one another. We are the subjects of worldwide deceit that furthers the aims of a corporate empire hellbent on homogenising every individual if happens upon.
Man! You got me on a rant with this one, excellent write, spence
I write about various topics. Mostly I write poetry/songs. I took my screen name from a concept album/epic poem I wrote years ago titled "Legion's Legacy: Tales of the Damned" which was inspired by .. more..
