What Holds The Truth

What Holds The Truth

A Poem by Legion
"

Something to do to fight the silence of the muses again. A riddle as well. Nothing special.

"

What Holds the Truth

What holds the truth

Within its grip?

A simple sincerity

Given the slip.

The eye lies

Within the lie.

Decipher this

And you'll see why

The answer sits

Where truth shall die.

It strangles.

It stifles.

It mangles.

It muffles.

It destroys.

It distorts.

It controls.

It contorts.

What holds the truth

All twisted and torn?

Beaten and broken,

The lie is soon born.

WOW! What a great riddle and poem. Now I know I'm wrong but I have an answer...I really do. I just can't put it here cuz it'll ruin the surprise!

You're writing is incredible as always. It's very thought provoking, I've read it quite a few times and each time something else jumps out at me and my thoughts go in another direction. Each time I think I have the answer or the truth I change my mind. What a great read!!

It's funny because you use the word "riddle" to cover up the fact that you couldn't convey a message.

I really liked this. Lies hold the truth in his grasp not allowing it to be know.

I'm such a huge fan of the way you write... If you published, I would definitely buy! :D
"It controls
It contorts"
Such a perfect arrangement of words.

I've been waiting patiently for something new from you and I am not disappointed. The muses are not silent just dazed. I like the flow of this and the last stanza rounds it out very nice. Thought-provoking, almost acidic in tone but nevertheless a wonderfully executed piece.

Truth is what we believe it to be- Most truisms are distorted, twisted and sprinkled with lies and most lies-the good ones are sprinkled with truth- Who holds the truth? -now that is the fifty dollar question-

I like this- riddle burner- good stuff..

wow.
well I am speechless, when you write something - then it is brilliance.
Why I am fascinated? It is simple, but such a strong message, so easy to read,
and such a depth. Your truth falls down like an angel of mercy from the sky,
braving the flames to save the reader he loves - but......he might not save her.
This is so, we need to live what we believe. A wonderful journey of such
a simple experience, what is truth? there are no absolutes! so there is no..
absolute truth. the truth is relative. yes. that's what I think. (favorite!)

Excellent riddle. I have two thoughts, but should ponder more before I settle. I'll have to wait for the reveal.
Well done.
