A Man Divided
A Poem by
Legion
Using math to describe a feeling within a haiku. Yea, I went there.
A Man Divided
A man divided
Exponentially fractioned,
Subtracting from life.

Just something I've been feeling of late. This, too, shall pass.

Fascinating on the conundrum side O' things...as a chi kung guy I'm curious...In what way do you find divided and fractioned a subtractive? Enigmatic excellence! A most unique artistic blurb...as in "Is it even a puzzle?"
Perhaps as I read it Haiku style you mean that that is your chosen path in this passing time...to subtract, along with the previous lines... Hmmmm

Still my favorite haiku of all time. Also, the first thing I ever added to my favorites list. Just thought you might like to know.

Oh this is brilliant. I believe it is true. Cognitive dissonance stands in his way. He's diveded. He really is sucking the marrow out of life's bones. Great haiku!

Very nice equation. Splendid haiku. Something about exponentially fractioned grabs you. A dissection of the soul that never ends. Kudos

Dear Legion,
A very unique haiku. And I agree, too much (let alone exponential) division within yourself can really be detrimental.
I enjoyed the haiku so much, that it inspired one of my own:
Man's mind ' reentrant,
Complexity's juggernaut,
Mandelbrotian.
Very best regards,
Rick

Just plain great. I love the way you use the structure to make the meaning visual. This was superbly written and crafted.

I really like this.
Short yet brilliant.
I once was going to post a poem written using math to describe feeling,
but I abandoned the idea.
Great write!
