The greatest love poem ever written
Can not be found scribed on parchment
Nor typed within pixels on a screen.
Can not be bound within a book
Nor etched in monuments to be seen.
Can not abide the captivity of words
But with lovers, it survives shared between.
Beautiful. Very well done. I love the implication that poetry is not a dead thing on paper, but something that lives and moves within us. And my guess from this is that this 'greatest love poem ever written' is none other than Love itself.
One of the best attempts to write a love poem, this is one of the most true poems on love, not because of the petite descriptions, or the romantic lines, but because of the bare honesty and truth in it, proving to the one you love that writing a love poem to them is pointless, because word can't describe your feelings at all!
Vey good, Love it...
How very true this is!
Love cannot be..hmm..what's the word? Tamed? You can not write about it for no words can express the..emotion. It's such a strong feeling. It's unexplainable, that's what it is. haha
Beautiful, a wonderful write! SO full of meaning and so true. Other than is being a tiny bit short (which really doesn't matter as you said all you needed to) I really liked this, a really good read and excellant point made.
If God is love then love is God. What words can mortals speak in offering that aspire to the Glory of the Spirit? An old woman places flowers on an older grave, a tear runs down a weathered cheek. The headstone is very small. She has no words for the child she could not save and there are no sympathy cards which say the thing at all. Instead, she pulls weeds and stoops in pain to dust the cold and lifeless stone. "You would have been fifty today." she whispers, then turns to make her silent way alone. How long does true love last? Ask a mother. A wonderful poem you have here, sorry for my wandering comment.
Nice!! And very clever, you have done very well with this...talk is cheap isn't it? I loved the intelligence in this piece, I did not know what to expect, but should have!!
Thank you,
Helen :-)
I write about various topics. Mostly I write poetry/songs. I took my screen name from a concept album/epic poem I wrote years ago titled "Legion's Legacy: Tales of the Damned" which was inspired by .. more..
