Felt compelled to write this. After reading many love poems, I get the impression by quite a few that they don't really know how to truly express themselves in that sense. You must remember, this is supposedly the greatest love of your life. Don't settle for the mediocre! Find the right words to be the write words. I am not "dogging" anyone here for the feeling is a hard one to capture, but if you are going to do it make it memoriable (ck sp). Your "love" you speak of deserves it. You deserve it. Hope I didn't step on any toes here, but don't let that fire simply warm you. Let it consume you and consume you well.

Thanks for the input. I think that to write a truly great love poem one must have felt love in life...It cannot be manufactured or is falsehood will rise from the page. I have found that, when writing with passion, where I seek boldness and loud imagery, that I need to get in touch with my emotions and then let them pour forth. I still haven't written that one great love poem for my love...but I'll keep trying.
I couldn't agree with you more. Love has so many colors and feelings and if the painter only paints in blue than the art dies for the piece is only one sided and sad, but when the hues are magnificent and purposefully placed on a page, than the person viewing this work of art is filled with passion, love or rage. Often times, I feel writers forget they are trying to appeal to the reader and the only way to appeal to the reader is shock them with the light into their closets and expose their truths and at the same time being honest with your own. Own your feelings and the honesty will emerge and flourish because it is recognized by another. I loved the piece. Thank you for sharing.
I agree. Love is not mediocre! Its the most chased emotion and the most difficult to express-- especially when it comes to a poem. We easily fall into the traps of being to trite, too young, perhaps too flowery? And sometimes love never requires large words. The simplest will do. You give great advice. I adore your voice in much of your work.

This poem makes me realize that there a lot of pretenders out there (myself included). I dont think many people out there have experienced true, all-consuming love. I think that when a person experiences that kind of love, they won't have to be a poet to express it adequately. This poem has made me re-evaluate some of the things I've written. Thank you for that.
I write as I feel..exactly...though I have stepped lightly with conveying the more erotic expression of it...well, I have tried...haha! I love what love is..always respected the power and beauty of it when it is strongly felt. I love how you push so exubertantly to give the emotion its full worth; And I agree with you. But, like a virgin gaining her experience in the art of love, some of us (raises hand) may have to work our way a little more timidly before we run off with all the full force of this majestic and captivating emotion. Judge for yourself as I bring in my own interpretations. And yes...be honest. I do want a true assessment of how I come across to anyone. I loved this piece of yours..Take care!
I write about various topics. Mostly I write poetry/songs. I took my screen name from a concept album/epic poem I wrote years ago titled "Legion's Legacy: Tales of the Damned" which was inspired by .. more..
