Moonlight Dancing

Moonlight Dancing

A Poem by Legion
"

Lon Chaney Jr. is my muse. You figure it out.

"

Moonlight Dancing

As she waltzes across the sky,

Swaying with the tide,

Her pull brings forth

The trauma of change.

Luna hypnotizes,

Captivating the spirit

That rages within.

It springs slowly forth,

Painfully,

Drawn out by her calling.

Hair rising. Bristling.

Blood boiling. Rushing.

Claws flexing. Shredding.

Teeth to fangs

Gnashing

In agony,

Turns to snarling.

Snarling gives way

And the howling ensues.

A macabre melody for the dance

As she waltzes across the sky.

It sure seems like the full moon affects people's psyches doesn't it?
I mean who knows whats on the dark side?
Save for a few astronauts doing a fly by, we don't know what's over there,
except for a man, and a whole lot of swiss cheese of course

Enjoyed the poem Legion, very interesting!

It's like a romantic rendezvous between the moon and a man. How her light entices a certain brutal passion from him into a werewolf of total beastly release. Nice!

the werewolves emerge and vampires too - when the moon waltzes across the sky such as this-
and sometimes - such creatures are within us - in a way - because the full moon
stirs people and emotions run high - fights and late night dancing - crime - and global
restlessness.

Love the picture and the prickly little tease...fangs and claws.

I'm a bit out of breath after reading this one. The wording, the imagery, fantastic! It has a beauty in it, laced with the horrific, ending softly once again. You really have a way of painting a picture with your words.

Well done! I think it's interesting how it starts off about the beauty of the moon and ends with a werewolf transformation. It really shows that even things people regard as good have dark sides. Excellent job!

This somehow paints a dark and yet illuminated picture at the same time. It's perplexing, fascinating, confusing.......how much the moon has such an impact on life. I like this

Intrigued by and loved the phrase "The trauma of change."
Left breathless, reading the second stanza. Wonderful!

The first section draws the reader in, not picking up on the danger and upon entering the second section the terror is immediate. Tricky tricky werewolf. A powerful effect. Just what I might expect from a scary movie when the ambiance is not threatening at first but just when you think your in for one experience the danger grabs you and captures your nervous system.
