The Fall of Freedom

The Fall of Freedom

A Poem by Legion
"

A short poem that I may use in something else I am toying around with. The poem itself will remain intact.

"

The Fall of Freedom

The freedom of man will not be felled

by a constructed or natural disaster,
But by giving over to the leash

sported by those that wish to be masters.
I, however, see them as nothing more

     than tyrannical b******s.

Legion
Thinking of changing the name of this to "The Failure of Freedom". What do you think?

Legion:

I like "The Failure of Freedom." I was just about to add it to the miraculous anthology, but I will hold off for a while!

There is much said here including that it is the handing over of control to those who are unworthy that sinks us. It is not as if the people who prefer freedom, equality, and justice do not outnumber the tyrants. All power inherently rests in the hands of the people regardless of what the dicktators (intentional misspelling) tell you.

Wonderful write! It is good that a handful of other people address the political issues of the day.

Oh....this is exactly the way I feel....people seem to be so blind. I am thinking of writing a piece entitled "Sheeple"...I think you can get the point. This is terrific. I am going to speed on to the others in your collection....

Is this prompted by Lyndie (sp?) English and those pictures of her or others in Abu Ghrave (sp?) jail? I think the thrust of the piece is right as when democracies embark on the most dubious of adventures in a foreign country that has neither attacked them nor declared war on them, they cede the paramount position: the moral high ground.

I'm loving it.

The proletariat should rise up! (OK, I am getting carried away...)

I have a poem on a similar vein...you should check it out.

I like "The Fall of Freedom" personally.
You hit the nail on the head with this one, the only way we will loose our freedoms will be by giving them up.
Well done!!
