Barbed wire crown Slashes his brow. Rivet-pinned palms Upon an iron cross. Blood burns Into a concrete dais. Sweat stains Agonized temples. Harlots and harlequins Dance at his dangling feet. Laughter and curses Haunt the melancholic martyr. The rockets red glare, Breath of despair. Damned, divine being Lost without seeing, A people without belief; Dying, filled with grief.
