The Thoughts of Cain

 

Blood.
The Power of Life
Coursing and soaring
Through the patterns
Of Webs.
Smoke fills sunny skies,
While from a distance stare jealous eyes.

 

Sweat.
Turmoil and trouble
Setting in motion
Tears of the flesh.
Trying!
Accomplishing awesome achievements,
While banishing battered bereavements.

 

Tears.
Occurring when the Blood
Spills from
The tangled Webs
And the Sweat becomes dry.
Starting the silent sounds
Of my Mother in mourning.
While I, the possessor of the Power of Life, am
Running from the Curse of Immortality.

Good point! Is immortality a gift or a curse? Perhaps, it is some of each. Can you imagine sort of having to sit around and watch man's inhumanity to man for all of eternity? As best as I can understand, eternity is a really long time!

But, love is the answer! Love will give the faithful the strength to perservere through adversity!

Great write. What a great topic for a poem! Maybe, I will have to write a "twin brother" Abel story. "That b*****d has a knife! Why, why do you do this to me, brother?"
