Such vivid writing, really conveys tenacity and commitment to love, rising above all else.
I love the stanza:
....and if age should still thy precious tongue,
Of which only rose-silken speech is spun,
I would not wither.
One never gives up where there is true love. I would love to hear your thoughts on my love poems, "On Blessed Wings of Doves" and "A Hundred Lights, A Thousand Hues."
Congrats. I'm new here so still learning about ratings, which I'll leave blank for now.

Wow, this was beautiful. Perhaps this one was better then the first one I read, but I'm not the one to judge true love. You should feel very blessed to have this woman in your life. Well penned.
Finally I found this, it'ss buried quite far back here. Okay, you've done it again, or should I say you've already done it since this one came first? In any case again I love the theme which you've built this poem around. Here we find the "what if's" which plague every young relationship turned in to a resolve and a promise. "...and if" evokes all the power of reckless Fate where its hands are, "tied in torment" you would never stop loving her. Now this is truly what poetry is about. It is not for moping aimlessly over past boyfriends or triviality, it is for the connection shared in emotion, and you've captured love in an instant and forever. You've got a very lucky gal.
Not the piece for every girl, but then man does not want every girl - well not to keep. Upon reading this, if she did not shrink back in deepest thought, you would know you had a keeper.
OH!!! I abosolutely LOVE it. I will begin to call you "Legion Whitman" for that is where this poem hits me... in the part where, until now, Walt Whitman had staked his claim.
I write about various topics. Mostly I write poetry/songs. I took my screen name from a concept album/epic poem I wrote years ago titled "Legion's Legacy: Tales of the Damned" which was inspired by .. more..
