A Letter For King George

The world's a stage of circumstance

On which you dance your dance of decadence.

Manipulate the media maze

And spin the truth to a frenzied haze

Of manageable misdirection.

Strangulation of the population

Through entropic sovereignty,

Inclines a nation towards indignity.

Inalienable rights separated.

Freedoms now not tolerated.

Forefathers raging in their interment.

George's tyranny, they thought, in banishment.

Now, revolution spreads wings on wind

Prepared to take flight once again.

This message for those with reins in hand,

Like King George of old, your reign, too, will end.

haha "of managable misdirection strangulation of the population" haha you are brilliant. The poem is made dismal and oppressive from the side of the power holders by the shadow of the gloomy place in our minds we live today - yes, I feel so, when I open the newspaper. Brilliantly argued.

You are capturing all the thoughts thatForefathers raging in their interment.
I have bursting out of my heart. Best line for me..
"Forefathers raging in their interment.
George's tryanny, they thought, in banishment."

This is a strong dose of medicine. Well conceived.

Wonderful! There is so much truth in your words. It is tragic what King George has done to our country, as well as Iraq in his endless warmongering. A fitting tribute to a horrible presidency. Great writing!

Well, there's always that hope. One calculated mishap and whoops, no election. Enter Emperor Bush. Great write, my friend.

I like the implications of addressing your president as a "King", i.e. someone who thinks he has a 'god-given' right to rule over a nation, who wasn't elected democratically and doesn't represent 'his' people.

"Forefathers raging in their interment.
George's tryanny, they thought, in banishment." - I like how you've expressed this too, looking back over history and comparing the bloodshed and chaos that existed then to what's happened lately. I'm not American, so don't know if this specifically refers to somethign in the Constitution, or to the Civil War, or just to general bad leadership - but I imagine it would be very effective with an American audience.

Good write, thanks for entering it.
Protesting against George Bush as President...or something more complex?

p.s.
"Inalienable rights seperated." (separated)
