There's No Place Like HomeA Poem by LeGaCyA tribute to my country Haiti......They say there's no place like home, but my home is in shambles. Cant walk around any more without tripping over debris.
After the earth rumbling a sliver lining is kind of hard to see.
We struggled long enough would you not agree?
First to receive our independence is that not enough.
No corruption, murderers' and thieves want to take over the once sweet paradise
of HAITI.
Government don't want us, damn near exploiting us.
Our women being abused and taken away.
Who can we turn to no one but GOD.
We don't ask for charities nor any donations.
All we ask for is guidance from the lord.
You see gunshots turn my country to fishnets,
that girls where not upon there heads but upon there breast.
Breath taking us to another depth, shall not fear death for gods hand
will intercept.
How can we ever recover from such a tragedy?
No one knows but the lord himself, for only he knows what we shall endure.
Cant let this obstacle break us down. For it already broke down our land.
Turned our church to a pile of dust.
Turned our homes to nothing but rubble.
What do we have left but our heart and soul,
Thats all we need until we are again made whole.
For we will overcome this and its only a matter of time.
The lord will one day show us a sign.
It will proclaim that our time of struggle is now over.
There will no longer be weights upon our shoulders.
We will get through this my people.
We will rise up and bring back Haiti to the way it should be.
One day soon, maybe not today, nor tomorrow, but most definitely one day
Because there is most certainly No Place Like Home.
