Lifes REVELATIONS

Lifes REVELATIONS

A Poem by Legacy

What are we searching for – where does our yearning lie?
I am not quite sure, I have the feeling I am destined for something bigger than I... (I know THIS - what I am becoming). I don’t intentionally provoke immorality... But why then, do I welcome it with open arms? Why do I enjoy it so? Why…, (What I have desired for so long) -A place I could feel safe, call home is anything ‘but’…

In life, there comes a time when we must ‘stand and recognize’!
I’d like to think I’ve earned this right, paid my dues if you will... I have managed to hold my own, infusing with-in - what is right and wrong... I know who I was and what I am becoming... Are others exempt?

Put your hands together as you look to the sky...
For years gone-by, more than I would like to remember ‘I have done just this’… Where have YOU been? Why do I feel YOU have forsaken me like the rest? I have believed in you when others have not. Have I been ‘dismissed’?

Auspicious signs will then reveal,
Hmm~… this indeed, they do. Beware though… not everything appears to be an open book.

Life is ambiguous… even-handed it is not!
Open to interpretation – how true is this! No apparent objective – it depends on how you view life. Unfair and cruel – THIS I am all too familiar with.

Don’t inspire with apprehension,
I do not have the luxury of encouraging fearful expectations.

We might have one – forcing its threshold...
I’ve had the drive to push forward for so long. Why now… am I giving in, giving up this fight? True is this - boundaries are only as we imagine them.

- Love and compassion a vital quality
Interesting traits… do they really exist?

Purity and Innocence, a distinguishing feature...
Forsaken me - these have done.

Life has a path ‘to each its own’.
To claim it as mine… this I do not choose.
Ours dreams lose their way, To say I’ve had them once – I guess in ‘goals’ I did.

Legacies ‘somewhere’ have become obscured...
Does such a word or belief still exist today?
For this is the 20th Century - People are not here for their names to stay...?

I have to say that I agree with Ms. Belsito after reading this. Indeed you have put together a very imaginative piece. I think the object seems to be more thought provoking that spontanous agreement of the masses. There are certainly parts that we can all debate upon and I think by writing this you have increased awareness of where we are all heading or at least could be.

AS A THINKING MIND IN AN AGING BODY
AS A TREMBLING LIBIDO IN A WITHERING BODY
AS A LURKING THANATOS BEHIND A LOOMING UP EROS
AS A TRANSIENT TREMBLING EVANESCENT THOUGHT IN A DRAFT OF COSMIC WIND
I cannot accept THAT what I want to do is a legacy coming from behind or above or before or beneath or whatever. I am not a puppet, John Malkovich if you prefer. I cannot accept that all I want is to be famous, eternal and I will never achieve that because we are some kind of a subterranean animal brought to the light and since that moment we have been under the influence of sunbasking. We have no control, we are manipulated inside by the ghostlike intentions our dolly or teddy bear of our psyche is doing or desiring when taken care of by some kind of a bigger creature we have never identified. I want to stand on my two feet and still ten toes, to do what I desire and wish without any limits with my two hands and my still ten fingers, my two declining eyes, my too glunt getting ears, my dull and wrinkles skin, to claim responsibility 100% and even 200% because my unconscious desires and intentions are also part of me. I do not care the least if someone does not like it, does not accept it, claims I have rightlessly borrowed it from their own garden, their own market. I am here for my name to stay forever and ever in my own conscious and unconscious mind. If someone remembers it after I am gone, that will be nothing but part of his own garden, no heritage at all, no inheritance, just a coincidence, a happy or sorry mishap. I will not be jealous of it and anyway I won't be there any more. No one, nothing is wider than me in my universal and eternal vision because that vision is entirely generated and contained in me and I am nothing but a transient organism, as an individual, and a less transient but transient all the same organism, as a species, in this universe that comes from we don't know where, if it does, that goes we don't know where, if it does, and I will always remember what Buddha said; "If we ask where this universe comes from and answer God created it, then I will ask where does this God come from?" And his conclusion was that we don't need a God to be part of the universe and to take part in the vast energy that makes that universe alive. We are a small part of a big thing that we will not be able to explain as for origin or destination, in a word retrospective or perspective teleology. Just let my name stay where it is in my still alive consciousness. That is eternity for me. Death is when I will forget who I am

Legacy, You have an interesting concept in your poem LIFE'S REVELATIONS. We all have our own beliefs of what life is about. Some think it's a curse, others think it's a miracle. Most people don't believe life is important, others think life as a wakening. I feel life is a journey which at the end will become our Legacy in life. We never know when our life will end, so we must live everyday like it's our last . Don't worry about little things that are irrelevant in our lives. I have wrote a poem myself about life, I'd like to share with you.

LIFE

Have you ever driven down a road
just to drive with no destination in mind.
The road seems to go on and on
with no stopping point.
Life is like that long road going on and on
not knowing when it's going to end.

But still you strive for another tomorrow
hoping that in the long run
Everything will turn out alright.
Just like the road though
it must come to an end.

I hope you enjoyed my poem, I look forward to hearing from you. I hope you have a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Your friend
Joe

Ironically I have raised both my arms up towards the heavens myself, I am protected from a higher up of energy and spirit. I follow on a spiritual path of thinking even though I'm not religious. Very true words written, and I say to each their own belief and faith, bottom line the message is the same. Many never experience enlightenment, and everyone goes at their own pace in their own time. I am a truth and soul searcher going way back. Great to meet up with fellow kindred spirits who think beyond the earth plane of conformity. Shelly

Legacy,
I loved reading it aloud;
but you are obscuring the passion in your piece by underlining the first phrases of every stanza.
Are you saying these are links, like computer links?
All the best,

Dear Legacy,
your poem has raised lots of questions ...
However, they all has one in common -
that's my wish.
I'm happy to conclude by saying:
my applause.

Thank you. While reading your poem, the words have transformed into the visual pictures -
While wandering around my artworks, I discovered your poem as my titles.
Have a look at http://captains-bridge.blogspot.com
Thank you

I love the dialogue format of the piece ... the probing and the querying ... some very interesting conclusions here, too ...

as to the last of them: Are you kidding? More than ever, it seems, people are here for "their names to stay", to grab the limelight, the headlines ... Only, with our fast-forward, zapper, MTV-clip mentatility they usually arent .... here to stay that is. at best Andy Warholes 15 minutes of fame.

great write. xxx

Query and contemplation tend to always lead toward positive actions for change from the mundane...I enjoyed reading this for at times similar thoughts have drifted through my mind. *applause*
