Mirror Mirror

Mirror Mirror

A Poem by Ashley G.
"

Many people can't see their true beauty and only care how others see them.

"

Mirror, Mirror

On the wall,

Standing clear

And big and tall.

Can you make my facade fall

Mirror, Mirror on the wall?

Mirror, Mirror,

You lie, you lie

What do you fear?

Why do your true colors hide?

Silver, green, black or blue

No one know the color true

but you.

You merely show an average complexion

As I stare at my reflection

I try to hide

What others despise

Behind a facade just like yours.

They cannot see

That I want to be free

To just be me

So I let my facade fall finally.

Mirror, Mirror,

On the wall

Broken and shattered

You never saw ME at all...

This is a voice of regret in the dark which chooses to fix itself instead of others. This is great...

Beautiful, yet a voice of desolation. Excellent write.

i think the last line would do better with out the at all, but i get that you where trying to make it rhyme, just remember that it doesn't have to rhyme, other than that great job loved the over-all flow of it

no prob:)
Not the mirror...it was truthful in it's reflections...It is I who never saw myself as I should have...as only I could have.
So true that we get very caught with our outward appearances, on which the world too often judges us. Thats unfair and we should love ourselves for what we are inside. Then again who wants to look ugly? So lets maintain a balance. :)
Very thought-provoking Ashley! Loved the internal debate you started.

lol glad you liked it hope you enjoy the rest of my work as well =3
Very interesting and uniquely written! It sounds to me like the speaker here is only friends with a mirror, and her only friend can't even see who she is, and all she wants is to be understood. I like how the feeling was conveyed so easily, and how you stuck to the old classical "mirror mirror on the wall" theme at the same time without having to stray too far to get your point across.
