Suicide is not an option

Suicide is not an option

A Story by Leeci

After reading a newspaper article on a local newspaper, I became immediately alarmed and astounded. The article stated that an eighteen year old girl attempted suicide by jumping off the Claxton Bay flyover. She survived, but was immediately rushed to hospital and broke both her legs. I'm keeping up to date on her condition. Neverthless, the article pointed out that she attempted to commit suicide because of a failed relationship. I stop and ask myself why young aduls are allowing themselves to reach a state where they no longer care about themselves and choose self destruction. She's only eighteen, why did she decide to take "the cowards way out?" Too many times, people find themselves in situations where they are deeply wounded and are unable to deal with thier pain. Another instatnce I can recall, is where my friend told me that a young guy from her area had committed suicide by drinking poison because of a failed relationship. This needs to stop, as a young person myself I truly feel for these victims who are misguided and have no one to turn to. All I can say is trust in God and never give up, God does not give you more than you can handle. If you know someone who is depressed, take time to talk to him/her and provide help. Suicide is not an option. Life is too precious to waste.

Sometimes, just sometimes, people feel like letting go of everything. That holding on to a rope for your dear life is already too much because of the rope burns. How it's so much easier to let go and fall, that evanescent feeling of enlightenment, of how you're finally doing something right lifts your soul for a brief moment. How the burden we all bear that is life, is finally lifted from your shoulders. This is my brief thoughts on why people take their lives away, though there are plenty other reasons out there.

What you say is true. Suicide is never the right answer, and how we should seek others, before taking away something so valuable, that it has no real value at all, something priceless, that is life. Someone I listen to daily once said, 'we should live to love, and love to live.'.

Thank you thank you THANK YOU for this Leeci. The suicide issue has also been burdening my heart for quite a bit now and i plan to post on it. I think we need to protect our minds from a lot of garbage and lies which are often fed to it from a range of sources.
Bless you for caring. :)

pleasure. :)
The two age groups that are the highest risk for suicide are teenagers and folks over 75. Teenagers are easily consumed by emotions and the old ones are just done. Good story.

I always remember If you Kill yourself you are killing the word of God. Least that is my opinion.
I don't understand why people want to kill themselves or try to....
I am glad you put this write out there for others to read : )
