Ethel Mertz

Ethel Mertz

A Poem by LeeLee Ryder
"

Living in LA for umpteen years was a fun ride... Ethel, my trooper II took me to lots of places.. LA- cross the USA & back again--twice .. what a tropper....

"

Racecar Bob speedin' by ...

Spittin' gravel in my eye

Geromino Smith splits the road ...

He's on the warpath like a hornrimmed toad

Tennessee Ford fumbles for his cell ...

His car's pumpin' out a God awful smell

Axelrod Hannah eats a banana ...

She's on her way to her home in Tarzana

Boxcar Fannie cuttin' thru the alley ...

Sneakin' ahead in her mustang called Sally

Patrolman Steve nails the gas fast

Chasin' a old beater who's luck just can't last

Bozo Jones huggin' the rail

Crossin' the lines, drivin' by braile

Speedy Red Wallace revs up his Yugo

Smokin' a joint with his ole pal Hugo

Clunker McJumper takes his time

Poppin' out of gear, he's so nickel & dime

Volvo Annie breakin' fast

Rearin' up her big fat a*s

Blackjack Nancy runnin' her course

Clumping along like an old steady horse

Here comes Ethel, she's as safe as a barge

I'm back in one piece, she's my hero at large
