Betrayal

Betrayal

A Poem by LeeAnne Peytonn

Like rubbing nails

along a chalkboard.

Its long claws

tease the edges of my skin.

It crawls from my toes

To the veins and arteries

of my Heart.

How?

How could you?

It rips through my chest

Carving names in my skin.

one.

two.

God only knows if there were

three.

Its slowly weaving its way

Through the thin fabric of-
