Ice Cold Eyes That Left Me to CryA Poem by LeeAnne PeytonnIts a VillanelleAlone in the cold of a present night, My eyes are wet with a frozen tear; I’ve lost my will to fight.
You’ve torn my heart and taken its light. I now here stand with no love, but fear; Alone in the cold of a present night.
You were my fortress, my strength and might; Now I’m left confined here; I’ve lost my will to fight.
I thought you were the one, that you were right, But you’ve left my heart to sear Alone in the cold of a present night
I feel the ice piercing me from an unknown height. I see your eyes against the soft white that I can’t hear; I’ve lost my will to fight.
I thought I’d forget you and your blue eyes bright, But torn apart am I, the dark coming near. Alone in the dark of a present night, I have lost my will to fight© 2017 LeeAnne PeytonnReviews
