Give Me the Wind

Give Me the Wind

I've been locked to the earth
Stuck to the ground
Lost, no adventure
to learn 'safe and sound'

Give me the wind
Make me to fly
All or nothing, I live or I die
Give me the wind,
show me my wings
Fly higher than the finch bird sings
Give me my wind,
throw me up high
give me direction, then say goodbye
Give me the wind, the wind
Oh, give me the wind, the wind

You've shown to me what's right and what's wrong
Now let me fly and sing my own song
I want the wind, free as a bird
I'll be okay, just take my word

Just visiting, a year I've been gone
Just listening, come hear my song

Give me the wind
Make me to fly
All or nothing, I live or I die
Give me the wind,
show me my wings
Fly higher than the finch bird sings
Give me my wind,
throw me up high
give me reaction, then say goodbye
Give me the wind, I want the wind
So give me the wind, the wind
Oh, give me the wind, the wind

Funny you say that - most of my older poems were written to be songs because I used to dislike poetry.

This sounds like a song. I pray for the WInd to lift me up so I can soar. Great poem:) I loved the finch bird simile!
