What I see when I look at you
The pain, the faults, the terrible truths Things that make me want to hide Things that make me die inside What she sees when she looks at you The good, the sweet, and what you do Things that make her so happy Things that are fooling all but me As indecision tortures her soul She breaks free of my hand's hold I wish I knew what's best for her As she lets go, I ask if she's sure But now she has you and now she smiles And I'd like to run a thousand miles To break away from how I feel To wake up and find that this wasn't real But when I fall asleep at night Inside my head is a terrible fight In the days, I've asked all along What is it that I did wrong? © 2013 H.M.
