my reflection looking back at me.

my reflection looking back at me.

A Poem by leaona Ann Brown
"

this poem is from the standpoint of a woman but can go both ways. it talks about how she points out her flaws.

"
she looks exhausted, dealing with undefeated destruction.
seemingly unloyal to herself.
sad eyes reaching for the reflection staring back.
imperfections only a myth. she wishes to say "good ridden" too.
only a wish, an unrealistic one at that.
she would take the sadness, replacing it with joy for which she deserves.
the thiny phased lips would become a warm smile.
that could brighten any room her presence was in.
she might even reach in and become brain dead.
just so she could keep the unwanted thoughts away, that threaten her with no sleep that night.
instead.
she brings her self back.
forces an empty smile on her face
so her husband doesn't worry.
she hides from the mirrors because staring back at her is nothing but empty space.
