Too Easy Now

Too Easy Now

A Poem by Leanne Conway

I can't stand to put on make up
Looking in the mirror just laughing
I'll just pull my hair up today
Walk out the house in my Mickie Mouse shirt
Tight skinny jeans hugging me only
Walking away from you is too easy now
You really had me there for a minute
Acting like you really cared about me
Trying to say that you loved me
Pretending like I meant the world to you
When really I was sitting on the sidelines
Just waiting for you to even notice

But not anymore my dear I'm done
I'm walking away from you without a goodbye
It's time I gather up the broken pieces
I really did love you when I said it
But now it's like a hurricane with you
A tornado waiting in the wind
Just to tear up my entire world

I thought that this would be difficult
But it's actually a breeze
Walking away from you is too easy now

Don't try to apologize to me now
You should have thought about this before
Now since the damage is already done
I'm gathering up the broken pieces
It's about time you learned a lesson
I'm doing my own kinda damage control

We could have been a perfect couple
But you went and screwed up
I hope that she was worth that kiss
So don't try to apologize
You knew that this would happen
But you took that risk anyway honey
So just turn around and get out
Because honey I'm so done with you
I'm closing the book on us

I thought that this would be difficult
But it's actually a breeze
Walking away from you is too easy now
