How Did You Belong So LonelyA Poem by Leanne ConwayI wrote this for Donna Minnick, her son committed suicide in April 2012. He was an amazing kind boy and I miss him just like everyone who he touched with his heart.Today I'm standing here staring down at your engraved tombstone Wiping a tear from the brim of my eye Thinking about that sweet smile you wore on your face everyday Thinking about you're mother and father hoping they're okay What about you're brother is he well Does he still cry at night for you to come home Does he wake up screaming from the nightmare that occured that day How did you become so lonely... I remember that day I met you up at the mcdonalds after school We were standing outside and we were laughing Everyday in the hallways when I saw your face I smiled and waved hello to you But then that day came and I was staring at my cellphone screen A tear fell my eyes and landed on the words he's gone I dropped my phone and covered my eyes and cried How did you become so lonely... Walking down the hallways in the school Holding my books close to me a tear falls from my eyes I take a deep breathe and look up to you I smile and say that I miss you I walked into the school office and went straight to the principle I slammed his office door open and asked him why He just stared at me with a confused look on his face But he knew what was I talking about I fell to the ground and cried How did you become so lonely... I created a patriots bully brigade in honor of you I wanted everyone to know that they have someone I just wish I was there when you needed someone Then maybe you'd still be here with us Today I'm standing here staring down at your engraved tombstone Wiping a tear from the brim of my eye How did you become so lonely...
