I See You

I see you in my dreams every damn night

Like a haunting a memory I can't stand

It hurts so damn much knowing you're gone

In my dreams you're standing there

As if you were never taken away from us

But who the hell am I kidding

I remember that date too damn well

All the tears that fell from my eyes 

All the pain that I pushed down inside

It's just one damn long haunting nightmare

That is never ever going to end for me

As the time ticks forward

I fall down an endless well of memories

Laying down every night staring at the ceiling

Wondering if you're looking down at us

I wonder if you know what it's like

Aging everyday without you're hero by your side

I search endlessly for closure behind every door

But there isn't any that I can come too

I don't know what to do anymore these days

It's just one damn long haunting nightmare

If you can hear me tonight daddy

I want you to know that I miss you

I want you to know that I love you

You're my fallen hero that I need

I can't stand this pain anymore

I can feel my heart tearing in two 

And not even all the glue could fix it

It's just one damn long haunting nightmare

And it's never ever going to end for me

I see you in my dreams every damn night

I see you in my memories that replay in my head

I see you in the raindrops that fall

I see you in my tears falling from my eyes in mirror

And it's killing me...

I know this pain as well. It's really hard for someone to go through. I know this is one of the hardest moments in your life, but I know you will be able to get through it. Your Dad will always be with you in your heart. He loves you too even though he isn't here with you anymore. I have gone through something similar with my friend's death. I know it's hard, but you will make it through. This poem really was emotional. It was a great write. It helped express the sadness you had been feeling. I loved reading it. Thanks for sharing.

I understand the feeling of losing someone you love too... I have lost my dad & my one true love.. although it was tragic to me, our tragedies are different. I have chose to put my faith in God, only he knows why they were taken.. I know he knows more & I just have to believe in him. One day he will explain to me why.. Hugs n love...
