The Man in the Silly Child’s SuitA Poem by LeannaEThe man in the silly child suit walks through the arcade, bucket of quarters dangling from his chubby hand. He’s been wearing the suit since the day his parents stopped holding his hand, and all his playmates lost their enthusiasm. Everyone around him is an alligator-toothed monster, and they shield their eyes from his creepy grinning face. Outside his playhouse, a hurricane overwhelms him, and prevents him from venturing out. He will never catch the rolling hills, that lie on the other side of the tracks. For, the freight train that passes over is infinite. © 2023 LeannaE |
