Temperance

Temperance

A Poem by Leaner Pastures
"

[tem-per-uhns, tem-pruhns] - noun 1. moderation or self-restraint in action, statement, etc.; self-control.

"

i sit in derision having made my decision, a final incision
        to complete our division

oh my blood pales, my heart wails every breath stales
and still i will not open your emails

despite the lashing stings the emotional dings and how much pain it brings
i will not answer when the phone rings

and i pray from my core with everything I have and more that the one I adore
does not come knocking at my door

for i can not bear, my very being does tear as i am acutely aware
        of your beautiful stare

so i must resist, cease and desist i insist i insist my bowels twist and they twist and they twist
as i reach with clenched fist

       and

                 oh God

                           how much you are missed

when you understand that there's no such thing as "betrayal" you'll know there's nothing to forgive...how can two people who don't know themselves (and concomitantly, each other) be expected to be other than who they are?..the straight jacket of morality never comes in the correct size...this is a great secret...

You're writing is mesmerizing.
Your skill with the English language is awe-inspiring.
Amazing write.
The struggle of moving on, it's one so many of us face. It can break many, but strengthen so many more. Good luck with the struggle, never forget that we all have the power to win the fight.

Sometimes self restaint can be the hardest things to bend our will to especially when it comes to diappointment. I feel your words are strong and hope all works out well with your gentle heart! I could really relate to this piece , but especially this lines.
"so i must resist, cease and desist i insist i insist my bowels twist and they twist and they twist
as i reach with clenched fist"
Great power in these words that will help other women!
*Blessings*

Well said! I really need to get some more stuff on here. A lot of our writing is similar. It sounds much better coming from you but, I am my own worst critic.
