You

You

A Poem by Papatunde

As I gaze upon the stars

I feel like I have been clattered with bars

I observe an obscure object, somewhat of an image

I look closer and deeper with relentless effort

What do I see?

I see thee....

For our paths may have been displaced and our souls have bid a dew

I feel a sudden pause as it once was

Neither delight nor melancholia can describe the sight

Yet here we are, marked like a scar

For words cannot describe how I feel nor will it ever

I love you shall be the immortal words I whisper to thee.

'I feel a sudden pause as it once was
Neither delight nor melancholia can describe the sight
Yet here we are, marked like a scar

This poem is extraordinary in its entirety. From the start I felt astonished, and as I read on I could only wish to feel equally satisfied to the very last word - and I undoubtedly was. This is the part of the poem that ties everything together. Beautifully crafted.

Great poem. Another piece that absorbs the reader into - one night claim - your gloomy thoughts that entrap a great deal of pessimism. Nicely executed.

Great read.

Thanks for sharing.
