Larson (Lydia) O’Brien a girl who must complete a mission. Born and raised in the Dream Realm, now she must go and live in the Real World. Leaving everything you loved. Does she meet expectations?

Chapter One

Leaving

I give myself a cold stare. My eyes wrinkle, indents are below my cheeks, I can’t stand myself. Only one hour. That’s all I have until I’m gone forever.

“Larson? Are you ready?” A shrill voice is trying to ask me a question.

“Yes. Yes, I am Kinder.” My hands trace my lips, a little puffy; but should last. “You can come in.”

The door opens, an old women shuffles to my aid, her kilt above her shoes. I relentlessly drop my arms at my side, playing with the seams of my shorts. Her hands work magic in my hair, as I stare out the window into the swirling colors of dream shine.

Kinder (Kin-dar) finally has my hair pulled into a braid bun. My new way of having to wear clothes is different, a tank top is tucked into my jean shorts, an odd feeling.

"Larson, dear, I wish you are able to so this." Kinder plays with my hair a little more until she is finished. "Are you ready?"

I nod. I drop the last bottle of Dream Shine in my satchel. Kinder opens the door to the stage I will be presented on.

"Lydia Rose O'Brien! Come up and join the Real World!" A man calls from the podium.

I strut to the stage, my nerves puncturing my skin. It boils. Every single pair of eyes is on me, just knowing their watching every move, burns more. My muscles begin to tighten, I can't move as good anymore.

"Ah, are you ready?" The man has his hand on my back, he whispers.

I give a slight nod.

"Lydia will now be going to the Real Realm!" He cries. A wave of applause erupts from the crowd, hollers and whistles.

The man has a key to open the door. A click from the handle. His hand on my back, guiding me too the door
