A soundless being

A soundless being

A Poem by Vertigo

The icy heat
Of a soundless being
Searing the edges of reason
That we are countless
Yet individual
And I am within
Every shallow beat
That rises
Even as I reach
Into your silent eyes
Wise as an owls wing

Beautiful...up until the last line. Maybe it's just me, but It reads oddly. Not sure why. I read, then re-read thinking I missed a verb. Wiser than? Hmmmm. I'm stumped as to why. Can you elaborate? I want to "see" the summation.

Thanks,

Mark
