The Afternoon Sun

The Afternoon Sun

A Poem by Vertigo

 We are seeming

In the afternoon sun
But are we alive?
Are we alive?
We breathe the sunlight
With fingers intertwined
Can we rewind?
Can we rewind?
I open and close my eyes
Wise to the winds between
Are you just a dream?
Just a dream?

Opal eyes
Brown as autumn
Silent
And free
Will you stand by me
In the afternoon sun?
