The Hollows

The Hollows

A Poem by Vertigo

I am not frightened
By the hollows
With the skeletal trees
And the lonely cries
Of a crow
Doesn't phase me
My eyes reach for the gray skies
And I don't know why
The rustling leaves at my feet
Lead me into the mists
Where there are no traces
And there are no faces

Broken streams
Follow broken dreams
Love is constant
Even in these times
Where there is nothing
But silence
And the ties that flow
In my imagination
With-holding
Clear eyes

I am not frightened by the hollows
Because...I am not so alone
And the distant memories
Of open skies
With open hearts
And open eyes
I am more than alone
And...more than alive...
