An Island Apart

An Island Apart

A Poem by Vertigo

 Fading in evening winds
Wading through the grass
Rising up to my calves

My memories are sudden
But free
As I am silent

I sit with my knees bent
And my eyes rise
Into the fading skies
And I am an endless tide
That meets an island apart.

this sounds so peaceful, so quiet. but it also sounds sad, in a way. alone, but not quite lonely. nicely done. lovely imagery and language choice.
