Every Burning Breath Could Be Your LastA Poem by VertigoMy eyes rise incessantly to the ephemeral starlight just as I breathe in the early morning air watching the sky fade "What would I be if I could be all you wanted?" he asks standing like a pillar, watching me intently...I meet his gaze and say nothing, for my breath burned for words to speak but the walls between us felt all too real to me. "If your world and mine ever meet" he says quietly without another word disappearing with the sun rising in his wake. I close my eyes and wonder if this could be any more real than every waking moment I realize that I am still alone. © 2009 Vertigo |
