As the world split

As the world split

A Poem by Vertigo

Shadows gleamed as though they were omnipresent moving in the starlight as I walked the nightly path leading me like a ghost and hidden like a mask with the red red moon watching like a pillar or a dream. I could sense the frigid air through and through, but oblivious to its cold bite against my skin. My eyes reached incessantly for the sky-light even as every star went out....
I lay hidden in the wood with watchful eyes resting upon me as though they had become aware of my very existence, surrounding me with their morning chirps and flutter of feathers, the birds kept their distance and were little comfort...for what was waiting for me when I would arise? A mystery of mysteries lost in the shadows and broken light ...needless to say it would the beginning of the end as the world split in two.
