Only With Your Eyes Closed

Only With Your Eyes Closed

A Poem by Vertigo

"It's astronomical you know" I would tell him "Its like seeing as far as you can see with faceted sight to the very ends of the universe where it all began..."

"What do you see when you see me?" he would ask

"Your irises are golden in this light and I feel as though I could fall into them" I would say "But it is as though you are hollowed inside out, though not-quite-empty...and its as if I am looking in a mirror within a mirror within a mirror"

He closes his eyes "I can see you with my eyes closed....I wish your outline were reachable and your contours readable with your electric heart beats as though they can read into me without effort and I can feel every movement and hear every sound of you."

"Only with your eyes closed" I say
